Safety · dignity · action

Every child has the right to feel safe, heard, and supported.

Safeguarding at Saint George focuses on prevention, attentive adults, clear reporting, privacy, and an appropriate response when a concern is raised.

Immediate danger

Call the Cambodian National Police on 117. This website and the school’s ordinary enquiry routes are not monitored emergency channels.

An independent route

A child or family can seek help outside the school.

If a concern involves a school leader, or you do not feel safe using the school route, contact an external service directly.

When a child tells you something

Listen carefully. Do not conduct your own investigation.

A calm, accurate response can protect the child and preserve information for the people responsible for acting.

01

Listen and take the concern seriously

Remain calm, avoid judgement, and allow the child to use their own words.

02

Do not promise secrecy

Explain that information may need to be shared with people who can help keep them safe.

03

Record facts accurately

Separate what was seen or said from assumptions, interpretations, or rumours.

04

Pass it to the proper safeguarding route

Do not question witnesses, confront a person, or circulate the information.

A safeguarding culture

Protection is part of everyday school life.

Recruitment, supervision, visitors, attendance, transport, activities, images, online tools, and adult communication all contribute to a safe learning environment.

01

Notice and respond

Concerns about safety, treatment, behaviour, attendance, online activity, or wellbeing should reach the appropriate safeguarding person.

02

Respect privacy

Information is shared only with the people who need it to protect the child and follow the correct process.

03

Know who is present

Clear arrangements guide visitors, volunteers, staff, specialists, transport, collection, events, and online sessions.

04

Protect dignity

Children should be heard, treated respectfully, and protected from unnecessary exposure or embarrassment.

Photos, stories, and public recognition

Respectful use of student images and stories.

Saint George can share authentic learning while protecting each child’s identity, privacy, dignity, and ordinary participation in school life.

01

Purpose and permission

Images and stories need a clear educational or community purpose, appropriate permission, clothing, setting, and context.

02

Limit identifying detail

Names, family circumstances, schedules, records, and precise locations are kept private unless there is a clear and appropriate reason to share them.

03

Respect changing choices

Where applicable, families have a practical way to change future image-use permission without affecting a child’s ordinary school participation.
